📜 Our Journey Begins
It was July 4th, 2012, on a clear spring morning in Louisville, Kentucky, when Liberty Trail Shipping was born — not in a glossy office, but in the cab of an old Peterbilt truck, parked under a stretch of open sky.
Our founder, James Carter, had spent years hauling freight across every dusty backroad and interstate this nation offers. From the citrus groves of Florida to the rugged peaks of Montana, he’d seen more of America by sunrise than most people see in a lifetime.
But he also saw something troubling. Too many shipments lost in bureaucracy, too many promises broken by big corporate carriers who saw their clients as just another invoice number. That didn’t sit right with him. He believed in a simpler creed: that a handshake still mattered, and that delivering on time was more than a business transaction — it was a pledge of honor.
So with one truck, a logbook full of routes, and a deep love for the American road, Liberty Trail Shipping set off on its maiden haul.

We chose our name carefully.
